Hank Ice maker was making funny noise and not rotating. No ice or water was in maker when I removed it. How can I tell if it is bad or if the water valve is bad?
Answer Hello Hank, You need to make sure the noise you are hearing is the ice maker and not the water valve. If it is the ice maker making the noise while it is turning,the issue will be the ice maker. If the noise is coming from the water valve, you need to see if the fill chute where the water comes in is frozen. If it is, the water valve is the issue. If it isn't frozen, the ice maker is still going to be the issue. Again, I always list the part number but I cannot when there is no model number listed.
