Wally for Model Number whirlpool et22dqrdw01 16 yearold whirlpool refrig: Ice maker overflows the tray .....so the water "pools" on top of the tray, then the ejector can't push the cubes out of the tray, after there frozen, because they are not separated ( more of a block of ice). What are my odds?
Answer Hello Wally. You will need to check and see if it is the valve or the icemaker. You have to test for power to the water valve during a cycle to do this. When the power stops going to the valve, it should shut the water off. If not, then the valve is bad. If so, then the icemaker is bad. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3.
