J Foster for Model Number Amana SXD20NPE Water from the ice maker is pouring into the freezer. I suspect that the motor may have failed, so the water is going on to the top of previously frozen but not ejected ice cubes. Is this a repair I can do myself? Is a replacement ice maker available? Freezer is 18-20 years old.
Answer Hello J. You will need to test and see if there is power going to the water valve on the unit. If there is no power, the valve has failed and will need to be replaced. If there is power, you will need to replace the icemaker. The replacement icemaker is part number D7824706Q. These are not hard to replace and you should be able to do it. Read More...
