Steve for Model Number KTRS22ELWH01 I have a Kitchenaid KTRS22ELWH01 refrigerator with the ice maker in the freezer. My ice maker was giving hollow cubes and I kept finding ice on the back of the ice tray as if water was dripping. This has been going on for awhile and now I get nothing even though I hear the ice maker motor. Do I need to replace the water inlet valve or the ice maker itself or both ? Thanks.
Answer Steve, If the water dispenser is working, you'll need to replace the "dual" valve WP2188785, if neither the dispenser or the ice maker is working, replace the "single" inlet valve WPW10498990 , Also check and flush the water supply line to the inlet valve, and replace any in line water filter. Hollow cubes and sputterring from the water fill tube is also an indication of low water pressure. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Wednesday, April 24, 2013
