Phaddy for Model Number JDR8895AAS Jenn Air Dual Fuel/Dual Oven On my model oven I was told that I need to Cut the Wire from the sensor and splice it together with the oven b/c the connector isn't compatible anymore. For one thing, this wasn't explained at purchase w/ the C.S./Order person I spoke to that this would need to be done, it wasn't till after I received the package and I called C.S. and that person had to tell me this. MY QUESTION IS, is it possible to have the wires spliced incorrectly to one another? Crossed? My Broiler works but not the bottom, the bottom worked b/4 replacing the sensor. Does it only either work or not work if the wires are (crossed?) and no broiler/bottom element, nor oven light would work at all? Thanks for any help that my be shared in answering my Q.
Answer Phaddy, the oven sensor wires can be spliced together either way, it will not effect the way it senses temperatures. Check the bake and broil elements for resistance, should read between 20-30 ohms. If your elements check out, the problem is going to be in the control board. Read More...
