Jay G Columbia , SC July 19, 2014 Appliance: Jenn-Air Freestanding-Double Oven-Dual Fuel JDR8895AAS Oven acting erratically flashing bake indication shut down during cooking checked control panel diagnostics per service sheet in back of oven code indicated sensor open circuit detected I replaced the sensor. Turn off power, be sure oven is cold Remove oven door (put in broil position, pull straight up, set door aside, carefully release tension on arms and gently park them against the door frame - do not let them smack into the steel or it will crack the ceramic coating) Remove oven rack Remove 2 screws holding sensor to back of oven cavity wall Gently pull leads forward to find connector, it is supposed to be able to be pulled out from the front. However, my connector got stuck in the opening, so I had to remove the back of oven to free it up Put down cardboard to protect floor Slide out oven Remove screws holding rear cover plate on Find sensor connector buried in the insulation, disconnect sensor from harness connector Ease sensor connector out of hole into oven cavity Put new sensor lead in hole from inside the oven cavity, thread into space in back of oven Secure sensor bracket to oven wall Plug in sensor connector to harness Replace rear cover, reinstall screws Push oven back into position Put door back on Put rack back in Restore power to oven I was able to confirm it fixed the problem by using the temperature probe on my multi meter Set the oven to 350 and let it preheat. When it beeps, open the door and insert the probe in the center of the oven, making sure it does not touch the rack. Close the door and do not open it again. Let the oven run for 15 minutes at 350 degrees. My meter does a min/max/average function and it averaged out to 348 degrees over 15 minutes. Note the instantaneous oven temperature will go up to 50 degrees above and below the set point as part of the cycling of the heater element. This is perfectly normal, you are looking for the average temperature over the length of time you are cooking something. Martin M Hudson , OH February 23, 2015 Appliance: Jenn-Air Freestanding-Double Oven-Dual Fuel JDR8895AAS Error code 1d11 " bake" flashing indicating runaway temperature top oven not toasting properly and shutting off Oven Manual said to check oven temperature sensor ohm resistance, which checked out fine, which led me to the expensive electronic control board replacement, which I did, and that did not solve the problem. So i reviewed the oven temperature sensor again, and I read one of the Appliance Parts Pro (APP) reviews...and another customer had the same issue as I was having and replaced the oven temp sensor and fixed the problem. So thats what I did...replaced the top oven temperature and problem fixed. I also like the no hassel return on the control board...as many places don't take electronic parts back. The shipping from APP is fast...1.5 days. Reading the reviews, fast shipping and no hassle returns, will keep me coming back for these types of repairs that I can do. Thanks APP!
