Loren for Model Number MHWZ600TW01 I replaced the Water Temperature Sensor on my wife's Maytag washer approximately 3 months ago after getting a F-24 signal. Yesterday the washer quit running again in mid wash cycle and the F-24 signal is again blinking. Is there any reason that would cause the Water Temperature Sensor to fail again so quickly? Or is it time to start thinking about purchasing a new washer?
Answer Loren, the temperature sensor WPW10467289, and the heating element WPW10426377 would need to be tested for resistance to identify if one of them has failed or if there is another issue. The resistance of the sensor should be 9.7KO at 86°F and the heating element should measure between 10O to 15O. If the resistance is within 10% of the reading, they are good and the wires would need to be checked for a loose connection or a pinched section of wire. Read More...
