Wayne Boese August 12, 2023 for Model Number WFW9750WU Getting a "F24" Error code suggestions what that might be
1 Answer Wayne, You will want to test the temperature sensor to make sure that it is good. This error code indicates a water temperature sensor error. Read More...
John Nash March 20, 2022 for Model Number wfw9470wl01 Turning on power and selecting start the door locks and nothing else happens. One light on the panel displays "Add a garment" I cycled the power a few times with a delay in restarting.Same results. Additionally cleaned the pump screen. I may next try to see if there are any loose connections. Any suggestion as to where I should start?
1 Answer John, For this issue, Test to see if there is power getting to the water valve and if there is not then this will be a faulty main control board. Read More...
Walter September 17, 2021 for Model Number WFW9200SQA10 My washer has been stopping during running or not starting at all, pressing the start button it just beeps. No error codes are showing, the time just blinks and door unlocks. It will run for a week without a problem and then it wont start. Have unplugged without help, sometimes opening and closing door helps, or rotating the tub or just get lucky and it starts. Sometimes it makes it 5 minutes into the cycle other times it makes it 50 minutes into the cycle. Replaced the door lock assembly, same issue.
1 Answer Walter, It sounds like a possible control not detecting the door lock occasionally or even possibly an MCU failure. We will send you a copy to run through some tests. When the machine pauses in the test record the number of which test and that will be your area of trouble. If the tests are complete then it's more than likely the CCU which is part number W10115079 but unfortunately has been discontinued. Read More...
Loren March 31, 2021 for Model Number MHWZ600TW01 I replaced the Water Temperature Sensor on my wife's Maytag washer approximately 3 months ago after getting a F-24 signal. Yesterday the washer quit running again in mid wash cycle and the F-24 signal is again blinking. Is there any reason that would cause the Water Temperature Sensor to fail again so quickly? Or is it time to start thinking about purchasing a new washer?
1 Answer Loren, the temperature sensor WPW10467289, and the heating element WPW10426377 would need to be tested for resistance to identify if one of them has failed or if there is another issue. The resistance of the sensor should be 9.7KO at 86°F and the heating element should measure between 10O to 15O. If the resistance is within 10% of the reading, they are good and the wires would need to be checked for a loose connection or a pinched section of wire. Read More...
Marshall January 17, 2021 Going off the question about rewiring the connector to the temp sensor. Is there a guide or a “How To” for this?
1 Answer Marshall, There is no guide to rewiring the temperature sensor. If the wire has come out of the connector then you will cut the terminals off and just add a female spade connector that will go on the thermistor and reconnect it. It will not matter which wire goes to which terminal. Read More...
Carla November 24, 2020 for Model Number WFW8400TW02 My washer made a loud noise then quit working in the middle of a cycle. Had to open the door manually to remove clothes. Now it won't run, when I try to start it, it won't do anything. The light lights up and the door locks, but that's it. I have to unplug it to reset it. Any idea what could be happening?
1 Answer Hello Carla, The first thing you should do is raise the main top and pull the tech sheet. This will explain how to run a diagnostic mode and pull fault codes. The fault codes will give you a good starting place in properly diagnosing the problem without "throwing parts at the machine". Read More...
Kit November 08, 2020 for Model Number WFW8410SW01 Our Whirlpool Duet has error F24 which looks to be a water sensor issue. When we removed the back cover, one of the wires had come out of the white wire harness. How can you re-insert the wire into the white harness. The other wire is still snuggly attached. It isn’t very obvious how to do that but that appears to be the problem for the F24 error code.
1 Answer Hello Kit, yes the open water temp sensor circuit will cause a F24 fault code and will prevent start up. The loose wire will need to be reconnected, as the main wire harness is no longer available. If the wire end that connects to the sensor is broken a new terminal can be added, it the other end of the wire came out other rest of the main wire harness it will need to be spliced back in. Rolynn August 24, 2020 for Model Number WFW9151YW00 Need to parts number for the Whirlpool Duet front load washer WIRING HARNESS/CONNECTOR to the water temperature sensor. Have already replaced the sensor but wires to the sensor have snapped due to friction. Please advise of the part number. Thank you.
1 Answer RoLynn, you would need to order and replace the WPW10323099/W10323099 Harness, Main Wiring. The part is in stock and available at this time. Thanks, Read More...
Yoni May 13, 2020 for Model Number 11047781701 I have an F20 error on my machine. I replaced the water intake valve and the flowmeter and I checked all the hoses and still got the same error.
1 Answer Hello Yoni, As per the tech sheet: NO WATER DETECTED ENTERING MACHINE OR PRESSURE SWITCH TRIP NOT DETECTED If after 30 seconds not minimum 0.1l of water entered or maximum fill time of 13 minutes is exceeded, the valves will be turned off and the error code will be displayed. Press PAUSE/CANCEL twice to clear the display. Possible Causes/Procedure If there is no water in the unit: Make sure that both valves at the water source(s) are turned on all the way. Check for plugged or kinked inlet hoses or plugged screens in the inlet valves. Verify the inlet valve operation. If there is water in the unit: Verify that the pressure switch hose is in good condition and properly connected to the tub and pressure switch. Unplug washer or disconnect power. Verify there is not a siphon problem. Verify wire harness connections to inlet valves, pressure switch, flow meter, and Central Control Unit (CCU). Check all hoses for possible leaks. Plug in the washer or reconnect power. Verify pressure switch operation. Verify flow meter operation by blowing air through the part and measuring the resistance. Verify CCU operation by running a Diagnostic test or any cycle. If no problems are located the unit may need a control board WPW10157911. Read More...
Andrew June 13, 2019 for Model Number EXPW10467289 Washer Temperature Sensor Hello, I was disconnecting the connector to the temp sensor and with no effort at all, the wires disconnected from the connector that you use to plug in the temp sensor. Is there any way to put the wires back into the white connector? Or will I have to replace the whole wiring for the temp connector? Does this make any sense? The wires that connect to the connector were pulled out. Can I splice a new connector to the wires? Someone help me please !
1 Answer Andrew, it is possible to put the wires back in place if the retaining clips have not broken off of the wire terminals. If the retaining clips that hold the wires into the connector are intact, they can be opened to cause them to grip onto the connector end and secure them back in place. If there has been any damage or missing retainer clips, then the recommended procedure would be to replace the wiring. Read More...
