Elizabeth for Model Number GBD277PD510 After replacing the control panel board, the temp in my top oven (wall unit) is off. For example, if I set the temp for 350°, the temp continues to soar to 500° (I have a separate oven thermometer gauge inside the oven). I tested the bottom oven and the temp is only slightly off. I believe I need a new sensor but I want to make sure. Also, I'm having trouble finding the correct for my oven (Whirlpool). Thank you for your help in advance!
Answer Hello Elizabeth, The temperature sensor (AP3008972) tells the clock the oven temperature so it would be the logical part to suspect. If you want to check it, an ohm meter should read about 1100 ohms at room temperature, (about 75°F). If it reads open from the lead on the clock, you should test it from the back of the unit to ensure the issue isn't the harness from the clock to the sensor. Read More...
