Manufacturer Part Number: WPW10705575

The Turbidity Sensor is an OEM part for Whirlpool dishwashers. It detects the level of particles in the water during the wash cycle, allowing the dishwasher to adjust the cycle duration and water usage for optimal cleaning performance. This sensor ensures that dishes are thoroughly cleaned by monitoring water clarity.

You should replace the turbidity sensor if it becomes faulty or damaged. Causes of a bad turbidity sensor can include regular wear and tear, exposure to hard water minerals, or electrical malfunctions. A malfunctioning sensor can lead to inefficient cleaning cycles and poor wash results.

Symptoms of a bad turbidity sensor include:

  • Dishes not being cleaned properly
  • Dishwasher running longer than usual or shorter cycles
  • Error codes related to the sensor
  • Inconsistent wash performance

This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

George for Model Number WDF750SAYM3

I have the Whirlpool dishwasher model (about 1.5 yrs old) WDF750SAYM3. The problem I have is that: 1. Start the dishwasher 2. Water fills, but not enough to trigger the float switch 3. Motor won't start 4. Dishwasher completes cycle, but dishes are not washed Dispenser is opened but detergent is not dissolved. I ran the diagnostic test, as mentioned in the tech sheet. It always comes up with error code 6-4. I tested the float switch. When switch is off, reading shows infinity. When switch is on, reading shows 003. I checked the F8 and F9 fuse also (it wasn't easy getting to it, but with great difficulty managed it) and they both read 2. Could you please help and give me some guidance regarding what could be the issue? Last week, the dishwasher would work intermittently. Sometimes, washes, sometimes motor wouldn't start and some times it would start, but then motor would not run midway during the cycle. But cycle always gets completed. I tried pouring water into the dishwasher (like about one third gallon) by opening the door during the water fill to make sure float switch will turn on, but even then the motor is not starting now. I only hear clicking noise.

Answer

Hello George. This does not sound like a water level issue. This sounds like the motor on the unit. You need to test for power to the motor, and if it is there, and the motor does not run, you will need to replace the motor on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
