John for Model Number Jenn-Aire SEG196, SN 940393BY Both spark igniters quit working at the same time on my 20+ year old Jenn-Aire (slide in) gas cook top (4 burners, 2 on each side). My initial guess is that the spark module (being common to both sets of burners), and not both of the two spark igniters, is defective. How can I tell if it is defective and not the spark igniters?
Answer Hello John. Both the switches and igniters will read closed for continuity. If good, it is the module. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3.
