Ly O. for Model Number Gas Stove Top Maytag MGC6430 When the knobs are turned to the off position, the starter sparks start clicking continuously on all 4 burners. So I unpluged the power cord overnight and the clicking stopped for several days, and it seems to fix the problem on 3 burners but the same clicking happens again on one of the burners. Answer Hello Ly, The first thing you should check for is a lost ground that could have been caused by a spill. You have to think "big picture" when doing this as many of the ground connections are where metal components of the unit are screwed together. The next thing to check is the start switch. The heat it is exposed to plus the possibility of spills getting into the start switch can cause a complete failure on a gas cooktop. The next thing I would suspect is the spark module. Read More...
