Lindo for Model Number DU8900XT3 I see the coiled spring and am familiar on how to put it back into the door but wonder how to use the other part shown? I have a door with a wooden face installed, is this spring the heavier duty one which is required for this application? Thanks for any help you provide, LPN
Answer Lindo, Actually, you have a two piece door spring assembly 674744. The bent rod is installed in the opening of the frame on the side, the spring is slipped over the rod and one end is hooked into the "looped" opening of the rod, and is stretched and the other hook is inserted into the opening of the door trim panel. You may need to partially remove the dishwasher from the cabinet, to access the rod attachment area, and there is less tension on the spring when the door is closed and latched.
