Diyman for Model Number MAV6000AWW Follow up to last question. I have changed the pump, belt, and put in the thrust washer kit. The brake releases with the arrow between the two marks. The motor moves freely in plate. When the unit goes to drain the motor still does not shift clockwise to make the basket spin and the water to drain out. I can smell rubber and it will leave light rubber dust near the motor pulley. I still can make it work properly if I manually move the motor on the base and hold it there until the water is removed. I can then release the motor and it will stay in position, but the basket slows down slightly. If I release the motor before the water drains out it will turn counter clockwise and the basket stops spinning and the pump does not drain the water. What does the motor spring do? Mine is rusty but attached. I am baffled!
Answer Hello Diyman. If the motor is not changing directions, you will need to order and replace the motor on the unit. The belt should slip some and not be to tight. Also, make sure the tub bearing is good and not roaring during the spin cycle. If so, that is your issue. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Thursday, March 21, 2013
