Tim for Model Number NED7200TW10 My dryer is making a loud screeching noise upon start up. Once warm after approximately 1 minute the noise stops I disassembled the dryer and noticed two of the roller wheels are not rolling smoothly, 1 in the front and 1 in the back. Should I try lubricating with baby powder as mentioned in other posts? If need to be replaced, do I need to replace all 4 wheels? Thanks
Answer Hello Tim, You will need to replace all 4 of the drum rollers WPW10177428 and the idler wheel WP35001086 at the same time. When one fails, the others are not far behind. You should never use a wet lubricant on these parts since lint will stick to it and cause premature failure of the parts, so the baby powder or corn starch is used. This is not necessary on the new parts at all since the bushings are impregnated with a dry lubricant. Since the idler has been discontinued with no satisfactory substitution provided, you should clean the bushing shaft and inside the bushing of the idler wheel with a dry paper towel and lubricate it with a small amout of baby powder or corn starch.
