Rt October 21, 2018 for Model Number MDG6700AWW What is the correct Drum Support Roller p/n for my Maytag dryer and how many are there? The video shows the replacement roller being pulled off the shaft. Do the new rollers come with shafts? If so, how do you remove the old shaft? Should I replace the belt as long as I have the unit opened up? Is there a kit that includes rollers and belt? Thank you for any advice! RT

Tim December 29, 2016 for Model Number NED7200TW10 My dryer is making a loud screeching noise upon start up. Once warm after approximately 1 minute the noise stops I disassembled the dryer and noticed two of the roller wheels are not rolling smoothly, 1 in the front and 1 in the back. Should I try lubricating with baby powder as mentioned in other posts? If need to be replaced, do I need to replace all 4 wheels? Thanks
1 Answer Hello Tim, You will need to replace all 4 of the drum rollers WPW10177428 and the idler wheel WP35001086 at the same time. When one fails, the others are not far behind. You should never use a wet lubricant on these parts since lint will stick to it and cause premature failure of the parts, so the baby powder or corn starch is used. This is not necessary on the new parts at all since the bushings are impregnated with a dry lubricant. Since the idler has been discontinued with no satisfactory substitution provided, you should clean the bushing shaft and inside the bushing of the idler wheel with a dry paper towel and lubricate it with a small amout of baby powder or corn starch. Bud August 31, 2016 for Model Number MGD9700AWW Im curious as to how many drum support rollers are needed for my specific drier model. From the diagram I can see 4 but i wanted to double check. My drier model is MGD9700AWW. Thanks
1 Answer Bud, You are correct, your dryer has four(4) drum rollers, two(2) rear rollers and two(2) front rollers. The part number is WPW10177428 / WPW10177428, they are individual parts, you'll need to order four(4) roller kits. The parts are in stock and available at this time. Thanks Read More...

Trygve April 06, 2015 for Model Number DV316LEW/XAA How many drum support rollers does this model use?
Jeff January 31, 2015 for Model Number MGD6700AWW I want to replace the rollers in my dryer. I ordered one online and the bearing ID was too small. The rollers all seem to be about the same size, so can I order rollers WITH the triangular clips AND the shafts? If I can get them like that, I won't have to worry about the exact roller. BTW - for all the readers out there, lint DOES get into the bearings and slowly clogs them up and causes premature failure, as they explain on this site. Ugh.
1 Answer Hello Jeff, If your model number is actually MDG6700AWW, you will need to order part number WPW10177428. If you want to lubricate the rollers you can use baby powder or cornstarch as long as you lightly coat the shaft. Too much will oppose rotation. Read More...
Sid C November 29, 2014 for Model Number 402.89032010 My dryer drum started making contact with the front wall two weeks ago, getting louder all the time. Sears answer was "absorber sponges", cheap sponge on contact tape that lasted 5 minutes as I suspected they would. Not original parts. I have no drum breaks, felt is intact all the way around both front and back and I have no idea why this is happening. Metal on front wall is shiny on top quarter of the drum path but I can't tell what is causing the paint to get wore off. I am ready to give up on this dryer. Has anyone else ever encountered this?
1 Answer Sid, You will want to check the rollers on the unit to make sure that they are not worn or damaged as this would be the most likely cause for the issue to occur. Read More...
