The Dispenser Actuator is an OEM part for Whirlpool washing machines. It is responsible for controlling the release of detergent and fabric softener during the wash cycle, ensuring that these cleaning agents are dispensed at the correct times.

Causes of a bad dispenser actuator can include wear and tear over time, damage from detergent residue build-up, or electrical faults within the actuator mechanism. If the actuator fails, it can disrupt the washing cycle and prevent proper dispensing of cleaning agents.

Symptoms of a bad dispenser actuator include:

  • Detergent or fabric softener not being dispensed
  • The washer displaying error codes related to the dispenser
  • Intermittent or inconsistent dispensing
  • Unusual noises during the dispensing phase

This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

Paula for Model Number WFW95HEXW2

I am getting codes E01 & F09, simultaneously Water will not come into the machine. My service man replaced the water pump. I am still having the same problem. If I mess with the controls I can sometimes get the unit to supply water and it will wash the full cycle no problem. When the unit fails you can hear the gears in the dispenser area just moving and then stop when it fails to add water. My repair man could not find out what these codes meant. Please help Thank-you Paula.

Answer

Paula, this error indicates a long drain. You will want to check to ensure that there are no clogs throughout the drain system, to include the tub to pump hose. From there, you will want to ensure that the pressure hose is not partially blocked by blowing air into the hose where it connects to the pressure sensor. From there, the most likely issue is going to be either there are excessive suds or the pressure sensor is not operating properly.
