The Dispenser Actuator is an OEM part for Whirlpool washing machines. It is responsible for controlling the release of detergent and fabric softener during the wash cycle, ensuring that these cleaning agents are dispensed at the correct times.

Causes of a bad dispenser actuator can include wear and tear over time, damage from detergent residue build-up, or electrical faults within the actuator mechanism. If the actuator fails, it can disrupt the washing cycle and prevent proper dispensing of cleaning agents.

Symptoms of a bad dispenser actuator include:

  • Detergent or fabric softener not being dispensed
  • The washer displaying error codes related to the dispenser
  • Intermittent or inconsistent dispensing
  • Unusual noises during the dispensing phase

This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

I have a duet whirlpool washer and have replaced numerous parts on it do to codes it was giving. The first set of parts replaced were main board and the two display push button boards.Dont remember exact code it was giving but looked it up in the techinician manuel and it gave the code as the two boards were not communicating. After replacement of that the door latch switch was acting up so replaced that. Now you power up washer and select wash cycle you want and hit start button and washer engages locks door and that is it,does nothing else. The time for cycle pops up and washer does nothing you here clicks every once in awhile and the time for cycle counts down but it does not fill or does the tub want start turning alittle at beginning of the cycle like it normally does before filling with water. No error codes pop up either. After you try to hit stop button on washer and it turns off timer and washer but continues to show door lock ed and keeps flashing the door locked on screen it never unlocks the door. Please help me out if you can and let me know what could possibly be going on with washer and if there is any place in the technician manuel you think i can go to try help me out or retrieve some codes.I have also read in other letters that you might have to do a reset of the unit. Please help me out if your can Thanks so very much

Curtis, The unit may not be showing an error code during normal operation, use the tech sheet and put the unit into service diagnostic and see if there are any stored error codes.

Butch, This issue sounds like the motor is not either not getting power to it or there is something with the arm not allowing the motor to turn. Maybe detergent build up or something like that. It would be recommended to make sure that the motor is getting power and make sure that there is nothing that would obstruct the motor from being able to turn the arm. If there is no power then the central control unit would be the issue and if there is power then there would be an obstruction or bad motor.

Hello Gsdmom, if you are using the minibulk dispenser W10250743A remove it and try a wash cycle with the single-dose option, powder or liquid detergent, if it washes down into the tub correctly then replace the mini bulk dispenser tank.

I am getting codes E01 & F09, simultaneously Water will not come into the machine. My service man replaced the water pump. I am still having the same problem. If I mess with the controls I can sometimes get the unit to supply water and it will wash the full cycle no problem. When the unit fails you can hear the gears in the dispenser area just moving and then stop when it fails to add water. My repair man could not find out what these codes meant. Please help Thank-you Paula.

Paula, this error indicates a long drain. You will want to check to ensure that there are no clogs throughout the drain system, to include the tub to pump hose. From there, you will want to ensure that the pressure hose is not partially blocked by blowing air into the hose where it connects to the pressure sensor. From there, the most likely issue is going to be either there are excessive suds or the pressure sensor is not operating properly.

Jon, You will want to make sure that you are not overfilling the dispenser and if not then it sounds like you may have a dispenser drawer issue.

Mike, You will want to do test number 12 from the tech sheet that is located in your unit. Based on the information it sounds like the issue may be with main control board of the unit.

When using liquid detergent I notice the detergent is leaking on the bottom outside panel of the washer. There is a blue detergent stain on the floor but very concentrated, not watery. When we use the detergent pods we do not see any type of liquid (water or detergent) leak on the panel or the floor. Can you advise which replacement part should be ordered? We have cleaned the dispenser unit and grey washer gasket and neither one appeared to have clogs or damage.

Victoria, This issue would most likely be caused by a hose that is possible damaged and would suggest taking the main top off and inspecting the hoses. Also if the unit has been getting off balance you will want to check the front of the tub to make sure that it is not damaged.

I have error code E02 and F08 displaying. I've removed the top and examined the dispenser motor and switch assembly. Where the wiring harness connects to the PC board, I've a lot of corrosion on both the PC board and the harness connectors. I've repaired in the past by cleaning the points of contact. I tried a similar repair, but no go this time. I'll need to replace the motor assembly and the harness. I have the PN for the motor assembly, but not the harness. Can you help?

F8E2 error. Washer has been giving that warning more and more until it will not fill at this week. I ran diagnostic and during C02 the tub filled. The plastic arm does not move from position IV so the water was filling the fabric softener only. Could not manage to get the arm to move to position I to start the prewash. Is this a realatively quick fix by replacing the dispenser motor? Is that a DIY? With high school athletes we need laundry pretty much every day for uniforms etc. Thanks
