Andy for Model Number GHW9100LW1 My washer frequently will not start when holding down the start button. Sometimes if you fiddle with the doors and knobs, it will start, or if you wait for a minute or two. I replaced the door switch but that did not change anything. I tried plugging and unplugging the wire harnesses to clean them, but no change. I tested the door switch, and it worked fine. But when I test the dispenser switch, it always reads open (i.e. Not 0 ohms), no matter the position of the dispenser. How is it supposed to work? How do I replace it?
Answer Andy, Yes the dispenser switch being bad would cause the unit to not start because it is sensing the drawer being open. To access the dispenser switch you would need to remove the top panel and this will give you access to the motor. The motor would be screwed to the top of the dispenser assembly. Read More...
