Joe P. for Model Number MDB8851AWS1 While removing the panel, door latch and switches, I think I broke a switch... it came in half with the innards showing, and a very small spring on the floor. I noticed each side may look different... Are these switches, left and right specific? And can the door latch be tested? I think that is the problem.. DW lights up when latch is closed manually.
Answer Joe, The door latch switches are not left and right specific. The same part is used for both sides. To test the switches you would check for continuity on the switches. When you take the switches out and put your leads across the terminals on the switch it should read open and when you push the button it should read closed. Read More...
