Aaron for Model Number MDB8600AWS I have a small leak underneath the dishwasher and is coming from the float, as I have read other stories I understand that there is not a seal of any type, however I see one answer is having a bad float switch, or one answer says to change the water valve. I'm confused on what the water valve is and what your thoughts are. What is the purpose of the float and switch?
Answer Hello Aaron. 99002628 is the water valve for the unit. If the float is dirty and heavy, it will allow to much water into the tub and will cause it to over fill. If the float is good, the next thing to check is the float switch. If it is turning off power to the valve, but the unit continues to fill, replace the valve. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
