Starr for Model Number LSR8244EQ1 My lid switch broke last night during the wash cycle. Now my drum is full of water and I can't get the water to drain. I know the drum has to be empty in order for me to replace the lid switch so my question is how do I get the washer to drain?
Answer Starr, You do not have to have the tub emptied to change the lid switch but to drain the tub you would have to jump out the connections of the switch. If you take the screws out of the endcaps of the control, you will roll the control panel up. When you do this it will give access to 2 metal clips. Using a flatblade screwdriver pop the clips loose. Once the clips are loose you can take the cabinet off the unit in order to change the lid switch. If you need to jump out the terminals to get the unit to spin then you will put a insulated jumper with the tips stripped into the 2 outer terminals of the harness that goes to the lid switch and this will jump it out.
