George for Model Number LTG6234AW1 My dryer keeps running. In that it shuts off while the timer is in the off location but it keeps clicking through the off position and starts back up in the next mode in the dryer dial. The serviceman put in a new timer and the same thing happens, so he removed the new and put the old one back in. And said he'd call me back with a solution, he never called. My guess is the start button shorted out and keeps the timer going. Your thoughts?
Answer Hi George. The timer is part # WP3976569. If the timer motor keeps the timer contacts activated it will keep the timer in constant rotation. Are you sure the timer skirt is misplaced on the timer shaft 180° out of phase? There is nothing out of ordinary on this gas dryer that would effect it elsewhere. It is possible the previous technicians timer out of the box was bad (it happens on any man made part). Give this a try. Let us know how to assist you further. Thank You. Read More...
