Juan for Model Number WGD5100VQ1 Dryer seems to work OK in Auto Dry mode except that it shuts off at the Wrinkle Shield (cool down) portion of the cycle Dryer turns but only sometimes heats in Timed Dry mode and heat is always low if any is generated. A fairly loud clank sound is generated when knob is wiggled in this mode (louder than click made when heat is coming on in Auto). Dryer not working in Fluff Dry mode unless I wiggle the knob. Thanks for any help you can give me!
Answer Juan, Based on your post information, you have two issues a faulty timer contact(s) WPW10185981, and a faulty cycle/guard switch WP3399639. The faulty timer contacts would explain the "clunk" noise and the "Air Fluff" cycle non operation. The stopping at the cool down portion of the auto dry cycle could also be due to a contact issue or the cycle switch contacts have failed as well. Read More...
