Jim for Model Number GX900QPKBO My trash compactor was banging when it reaches the end of the compacting cycle. I removed the top limit switch and check it with an ohm meter. It aprears to be funtioning. However, when I reinstalled the top limit switch the unit doesn't cycle at all when you press the on button, it just begins to bang. How should proced from here? Is there alignment procedure for the top limit switch?
Answer Hello Jim. You need to check and see if the directional switch is installed properly and if any wires came loose when you were working on the unit. It sounds like the switch WP777811 is not reading correctly. The wires need to be on the same terminals as they were before the test. Read More...
