Rich for Model Number EED4400WQO Heat stays on constanly even when door is opened and motor not spinning. As soon as I switch selector to a heat position element comes on no need to press start button. If I open door in middle of cycle drum stops but element stays on. Appreciate any help. Checked for grounded element seemed good. and ohmed switch out according to wiring diagram alsoseemed good.
Answer Hello Rich. You will need to check again, based on the information you provided, it sounds like the element 279838 is bad and will need to be replaced. It sounds like you have got a grounded element on this unit. Check for a coil touching any part of the metal. I think you will find that one coil is touching somewhere on the element.
