Mark June 10, 2021 for Model Number WED4800BQ1 Timer advances normally through both the auto dry and timed dry, but will stop advancing when it gets to the cool down phase of the cycle. Dryer can just keep running for hours with 10 minutes left on the dial.
1 Answer Mark, as the timer will advance until the cool down in both the timed and auto cycles, the failure would most likely be in the timer WPW10185982 itself. Read More...

Bobby B. January 07, 2017 for Model Number EED4400WQ0 Will a bad timer Part #W10185970 D cause my dryer to not come on
1 Answer Bobby, Yes a defective timer can keep the dryer from starting. But your first checks should be at the outlet, make sure you have 220 VAC, check across the two outside terminals of the terminal block for 220 VAC. Then check the thermal fuse on the blower housing for a closed circuit and then the belt and belt switch for a closed circuit and damaged wiring or a broken belt. These are the more "common" problem when a Whirlpool dryer won't start or run. Read More...
Barry November 27, 2015 for Model Number EED4400WQ0 I replace the heat element and my dryer still take longer to dry I have also replace the cycling thermostat my timing or knob is off when I line my knob or mark that on the knob on off it will run when it run it will stop before it got to the off mark therefore it not going through all the heat cycle for to dry.
1 Answer Barry, You will want to check the venting of your unit to make sure that the issue is not with the venting being clogged. For the issue with the timer not lining up it would most likely be a timer issue. Read More...
Dan August 19, 2015 for Model Number eed4400wq0. My dryer works at the 80 minute mark but doesn't work at other times. Auto works. I am thinking it is the timer. I have checked all the fuses and element. Checks out fine for continuity. Dryer Heats up at the uppermost times of timed dry but nothing lower.

Alex February 19, 2015 for Model Number WED5000VQ1 My Whirlpool 291N electric dryer only turns on when the timer is on the "low heat" setting. It does nothing at all on the "high heat" or "timed" setting. I am ready to purchase a new timer, but wanted to know what I can check to verify that the timer is the problem. Please respond to my email.
1 Answer Alex, You will want to check from the A terminal (Red wire) to B terminal (Light blue) for 120 vac with the unit set for high heat or timed dry. If there is not proper voltage then the timer is faulty and would need to be replaced. Read More...

Dick July 15, 2014 for Model Number EED4400WQO When I set the timer for a specific time or auto` and then push the start button, there is a strange (buzzing) sound, and the unit will not start.
1 Answer Hello Dick. Try turning the drum as you press the button with the door switch taped closed. If the unit starts and runs, the motor is bad and will need to be replaced. If the buzzing is from the timer, it may be bad. Also, make sure the door switch and thermal fuse is good on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3.
