David R. for Model Number Whirlpool Thin Twin, model LTE6234AN1 I ordered a new timer from AppliancePartsPros. But the screws that attach the new timer to the washer panel definitely do not fit. The problem is that the screw-holes on the new timer have no threads to accommodate screws. The holes are just smooth smooth metal inside. I tried to force a screw into a hole and all I managed to do was shear the threads off the end of the screw. So it is not possible to attach the new timer. So, where do I get a timer model with screw threads? Here is a picture of the problem- https://app.box.com/shared/static/qpto7fxku16bqov1pl31.jpg
Answer David, The screws that come with the part should be used as they are self tapping screws. You will want to drive them into the timer before installing as it will be difficult to install otherwise. Once you have them preset then you can take them out and install the timer into the unit.
