Glen for Model Number Whirpool washing machine model #LLN8233BQO I believe I need a new timer assembly. The water won't drain out when using the regular cycle but it will when using the perm press, etc. It might work also on the regular cycle if we "mess with" the knob. If I buy another timer assembly I don't see how to get this one off? I don't see how to pull the knob off nor unscrew it? When I try to unscrew it the whole thing turns & won't unscrew. (I don't want to force it & break it worse?) :) Thank you.
Answer Glen, The timer would be the most likely issue with this problem. To replace the timer there is a screw at the front side corner of the control panel that will need removed to lift the control panel and access the timer. The knob is a screw on type knob and you would want to pull the timer knob out and then get ahold of the knob with a pair of needle nose pliers and rotate the knob counter clockwise to remove.
