Steve for Model Number LA8860XWQ0 Washer (32 years old) stops at the drain cycle, leaving the washer full of water. After draining water out manually with a small external pump and closing the lid, the washer moves to the next cycle. I don't think its the drain pump because on the spin cycle, the drain pump still pushes out a small amount of water. Could this likely be the timer?
Answer Hello Steve, thank you for contacting AppliancePartsPros.comIf the washer is coming to a complete stop without running the motor at the point where it should be draining I would suspect that the timer 285952 isn't closing a contact, especially if the cycle advances on its own after you have manually drained the water.
