Jesse for Model Number Kenmore Electric Dryer 110.67522600 Our dryer is running hot and can not be controlled by the temperature switch. It was noticed about 3 weeks ago and ran in the "normal dry" mode. the dryer ran almost all night. I noticed it still running at 3AM. I checked the Hi-Limit and cycling thermostats. Even putting on griddle to activate after checking at RT. The both work fine. I checked the cycle switch. It was reading 0.01 resistance on low, 6.6 to 7.8 K ohms on medium, and no reading on high. I just replaced it last night and still get the same readings. I am thinking it actually might be the timer. How do I check the timer and/or what else can I check to see what is going on? (Sorry for the long note)
Answer Jesse, The unit getting too hot you will want to first check the venting from the blower wheel all the way to the outside of home for clogs or restrictions. If this checks ok and the thermostats check ok then the timer would be the most likely cause. If the timer is not advancing then you would also have a faulty timer. Read More...
