Jerry for Model Number LEC8858EQ1 The dryer heating element does not shut down at the off switch in the cycle, it even seems to get hotter. I replaced the thermostat elements etc. but no dice. Could the timer be bad Thanks
Answer Hello Jerry. If the element is staying on, and the unit is not running, you may have a shorted heating element 279838, and it will need to be replaced. Check and see if the element is shorted to ground. If so, you will need to replace the element. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter.
