Marcia January 24, 2017 for Model Number KGYS750GQ0 I replaced the motor and the next day the timer quit. Nothing looks burned on the timer. The end of cycle no longer buzzes because timer does not move. Is there some way to test the banks of wires that plug into the timer to see if it is missing voltage and not the timer itself? Thanks
1 Answer Hello Marcia, This is most likely the electronic control 3390537. I'm sorry but this part has been discontinued by the manufacturer and no satisfactory substitutions have been provided. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter. Read More...
Victor February 05, 2015 Hi, my Whirlpool washer is doing a lot of noise when it starts the washing cycle. When you open it, all clothes are thrown to one side, and some of them are around the agitator, but extremly tight to it. Could you please tell me what could it be? I don´t have the model, but it has like 20 years old Thank you very much

1 Answer Carmen, For the dryer not starting when you push the start button, you will want to check the continuity of the door switch in the closed position and the thermal fuse. They should both have continuity and if one of the parts does nto have continuity then you will need to replace the part. Read More...

1 Answer Hello Mary. Check and make sure you have 240 volts coming to the dryer. Check and make sure the unit is not set to Air Fluff. Also check the heater and thermostats and see if they are good. You can test these with a multi-meter MA-DM1. They should read closed for continuity. Lou C January 13, 2012 for Model Number kgys750cq1 Can you give me instruction on installing part ap2976318 (timer). Thanks.
1 Answer Lou C., here's some basic information " Unplug power cord or turn power off to the dryer. To access the components in the console : 1. Remove two(2) screws that secure the console to the top. 2. Lay console forward onto dryer top.( Place a cloth or rag under the console to protect the finish on the top). 3. Remove the screws that secure the back panel on the control console. Remove the timer knob, remove the two mounting screws securing the timer assembly to the mounting plate." M. Dell December 30, 2011 for Model Number KEYS850GQ0 During the heating portion of the "sensor dry" cycle the dryer will stop, buzz, then after a few moments start again. It may do this several times during the sensor dry cycle. It usually completes the whole cycle but sometimes the clothes are still damp. What is causing this behavior?
1 Answer M Dell, Are you sure the venting system and lint filter are clean and free of lint and debris. Are you sure the "Extra Care option is not "On" ? " • The Extra Care feature (on some models) protects your clothing from wrinkles if you are unable to unload the dryer within 5 minutes after tumbling stops. The Extra Care feature tumbles the load without heat every few minutes up to 45 minutes after the cycle ends. NOTE: If the Extra Care selector is set to Off, the Sensor Dry cycle ends after cool-down. A signal will sound every few minutes when Extra Care is running if the End of Cycle Signal feature is set On. The signal and cycle stop when you open the dryer door." You do have to De select (turn off) the option. Good Luck and Thanks Read More...

Jerry October 02, 2011 for Model Number LEC8858EQ1 The dryer heating element does not shut down at the off switch in the cycle, it even seems to get hotter. I replaced the thermostat elements etc. but no dice. Could the timer be bad Thanks
1 Answer Hello Jerry. If the element is staying on, and the unit is not running, you may have a shorted heating element 279838, and it will need to be replaced. Check and see if the element is shorted to ground. If so, you will need to replace the element. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
