Cameron for Model Number NED4500VQ0 My dryer is not drying my clothes when it is set to the Accudry setting. I can't find a moisture sensor anywhere on the machine that would tell it when the clothes are dry. I have good strong airflow, I've replaced all of the sensors and thermostat and the heating element. It still takes like 3 cycles to dry.
Answer Hello Cameron, Since there is no difference in the operation of the unit from timed dry to the automatic cycle, the issue has to be related to airflow. I would open the unit and make sure there is not an item like a dryer softener sheet in the blower wheel. While in there check for any possible loose or missing seals/gaskets. If nothing is found you may need to recheck the ducting for a full 4-inch diameter opening inside the duct from the back of the unit to outside atmosphere. I have found water standing inside the duct that restricts airflow. I have also found excessive amounts of flex duct behind dryers that cause issues since the ducting needs to be short and straight as possible. Read More...
