Cameron August 13, 2021 for Model Number NED4500VQ0 My dryer is not drying my clothes when it is set to the Accudry setting. I can't find a moisture sensor anywhere on the machine that would tell it when the clothes are dry. I have good strong airflow, I've replaced all of the sensors and thermostat and the heating element. It still takes like 3 cycles to dry.
1 Answer Hello Cameron, Since there is no difference in the operation of the unit from timed dry to the automatic cycle, the issue has to be related to airflow. I would open the unit and make sure there is not an item like a dryer softener sheet in the blower wheel. While in there check for any possible loose or missing seals/gaskets. If nothing is found you may need to recheck the ducting for a full 4-inch diameter opening inside the duct from the back of the unit to outside atmosphere. I have found water standing inside the duct that restricts airflow. I have also found excessive amounts of flex duct behind dryers that cause issues since the ducting needs to be short and straight as possible. Read More...
Tim Creighton February 03, 2021 for Model Number MEDC200XW3 The timer on my drier does not advance. The heater runs in all modes including no heat modes. In high heat mode the heater gets red hot. I replaced the timer and have the same condition with the new timer. Can you provide a suggestion? Thank You
1 Answer Tim, For the unit heating in the air fluff cycle, this would more likely be an issue with the temperature switch or a grounded heater. As for the timer not advancing, if this is happening in all cycles then the issue will most likely be either a faulty timer, which has been replaced, It would be recommended to check to make sure that there are no wiring issues causing this issue. Bradley March 11, 2019 for Model Number medc200xw3 My dryer will not start. I tried a new start switch and this did not fix the problem. The door switch as well as the thermal fuse test OK on my multimeter. There is power. When the start button is pressed nothing happens. There is no movement on the timer during the timed setting. Could it be the timer?
1 Answer Bradley, If the door switch and the thermal fuse are good then you will want to test to see if there is power getting to the motor when the start button is pushed. If there is power but the motor is not starting then this would be a faulty motor. If there is no power then test the timer to make sure that it is sending power to the motor. If it is not then the timer would be faulty. Read More...
Charlie November 21, 2017 for Model Number 110.68422700 A shoe hung in the dryer breaking the belt and pulley. After replacing the belt and pulley, the dryer dries fine and the timer returns to stop. The element turns off but the dryer continues to run. Any suggestions? Thanks,
1 Answer Charlie, You will want to check for wiring issue and if the wiring checks ok then the internal centrifugal switch of the motor may be sticking and causing the unit to continue to run. Read More...
Kenneth T January 04, 2016 for Model Number 11069522800 The dryer works fine, spins and heats and stops turning/spinning at the end of the time. However the timer keeps running into the next cycle and the heating continues (drum not turning), leaving the dryer itself very hot. Should I start with the timer? Thank you!!
1 Answer Kenneth, Yes this issue will most likely be caused by a timer that has failed. The other part that could potentially cause this would be a faulty motor which also supplies the other side of the heat circuit. Read More...

Shane D December 11, 2015 for Model Number MEDC200XW1 My dryer will not heat. Ive tested the thermal fuse, heating element ,high temp thermostat. How do I test the timer?
1 Answer Shane, This is the best method to determine why the unit is not heating. There are 2 components other than the thermostats which would cause the heating element not to work. First is the motor and second the timer. The best option is to disconnect the power to the unit and access the heating element. Disconnect one wire that is going to the heating element, preferably the one on the thermostat side. Plug the unit back up and using a multimeter you will want to turn the dryer on and test for 120 vac at the terminal on the heater where the wire was disconnected. What this will do is eliminate the heater element itself and the motor. If there is 120 vac at this point then you know the heater is good and the motor is good because the other 120 vac coming through the thermostats is the timer side of the circuit. If there is not 120 vac at that point then you will want to test the other terminal on the heater and check for 120 vac. If there is not 120 vac then the motor would be bad . Read More...
Brian August 16, 2015 for Model Number 110.62622101 Hello. Is this the correct timer for my dryer? When the timer arrived I had to transfer the blue wire from my old timer because the new timer didn't have the blue wire. Also, the new timer doesn't have enough terminals to reconnect the wires. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks.
1 Answer Brian, This timer WP8299779 is the correct timer for your unit. You will want to double check your wiring as some wire may attach at the same terminal via a gang terminal. Unfortunately we do not have access to the wiring diagram to be able to assist on the wiring. Read More...
1 Answer Hello Bill. You can test the timer and see if it is bad. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
John C December 14, 2013 for Model Number 110.67432600 When dryer is set to the timed dry cycle, the dryer starts, heats up, and runs for about 4 to 5 minutes before shutting itself off. When using the auto-dry settings, it works fine. Dryer is located in an unheated room (next to the hot water tank and furnace) off of the garage. Bad timer??
1 Answer Hello John. If the timer is advancing to off early in the timed dry cycle, you will need to order and replace the timer WP8299779 on the unit. Read More...
