Symptoms of a bad timer include:

Answer

Alejandro, We wouldn't expect the timer to be the issue, It's only a switch and doesn't really "carry a load". You may want to check the Red wire(terminal R) from the timer to the thermostats and heater element. The most likely and common issue for this type of complaint, is or was a loose connection at the terminal block. After years of heat and expansion and contraction, the mounting bolts and screws loosen and can create a high amperage draw, causing the wires to overheat and burn. Repair the burnt wire as best possible(shrink wrap and solder) reinstall the power cord and make sure the mounting nuts and bolts are good and tight, and you should be fine.
