James for Model Number 110.96350100 After dryer goes through timed cycle the timer continues to tick and move past cut off section on into air dry section and it finally stopped after that section. Also the other day the dryer got real hot by the timer continuing to move without hitting start button?? Can you tell me how to tell if resistor on back of timer is bad or timer bad?
Answer James, the resistor can be visually inspected for damage and broken connectors bu then you would need a multi meter to check for 3 to 5 ohms resistance across the resistor terminals. The timer resistor seldom has an issue, if that will help you out. You'll want to check the timer cam chart and circuits or replace it based on your post information. Read More...
