Richie Burke for Model Number LER4634EQ1 I replaced the motor and now the dryer won't shut off via the timer. It will shut off when door is open and restart when door is closed. The time does tick and move if the dryer is running, but won't shut off if auto or manually moved to the off position. What troubleshooting needs to be done to find the cause?
Answer Richie, First, check that the replacement motor is wired correctly. The door switch is working correctly, based on your description so check the start switch for a "momentary" contact when the knob is turned to start the dryer, the switch circuit should "open" when the knob is released. If all's Ok replace the timer. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Wednesday, March 15, 2017
