Hello Jim, This sounds like the lid switch (AP3180933) has either failed or some parts in the assembly have come loose, not allowing the lid switch not to be activated. The first thing you should do is open the lid and make sure the two screws on the far left side of the lid that holds the hinge assembly to the lid are tight. If they are tight, you will need to replace the lid switch.
