George for Model Number MTW5840WT Washer fails to properly complete a cycle. Perhaps a timer issue as in some locations in a cycle I can apply slight inward pressure to the timer knob and it will engage. Without that pressure, I think the timer knob rotates, but actions do not function. The recently completed cycle left water in the tub. So, it seems that the timer knob rotates during a cycle, but the washer functions do not work consistently. Please advise.
Answer George, Based on your post information, we'd have to agree with you, the peoblem is most likely the timer WPW10111389. The timer cam wheel has probably "slipped" on the timer shaft and is not activating the internal switch contacts properly. By pressing in on the timer knob, the wheel and contacts align and activate properly. Replace the timer and you should be fine. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Tuesday, May 31, 2016
