Alex R. for Model Number MVWc300VW1 Washer belongs to a friend's niece. It quit...could not turn the motor by hand...took the pump off and found a childs sock...set the dial on spin...could not get the motor to run...no hum...removed motor...does not look like it has been hot nor does it smell like it...what contacts do should I have continuity...timer does not smell like it is burned either. Any suggestions are welcome. Thank you!
Answer Hello Alex. Check and make sure you plugged the lid switch WP8318084 back into the connector on the washer. If not, it will cause the problem you are having with the washer. If the lid switch is good, test for power to the motor on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
