This angle-sequence timer controls the timed advancement of bake/broil cycles in compatible Whirlpool ranges, restoring proper cycle sequencing and timing for reliable oven operation. What it does

  • Rotates an internal cam to open and close cycle contacts, advancing the oven through timed functions.
  • Re-establishes timed cycling when the oven fails to advance through bake/broil or self-clean cycles.
  • Commonly used when the timer stops clicking, won't turn, or the oven does not start or complete timed operations.
  • Works as the mechanical timing control for range/oven cycle sequencing.
What's included
  • One angle-sequence timer assembly.
Install notes
  • Disconnect power to the appliance before starting any repair to avoid shock or injury.
  • Handle the timer carefully to avoid bending terminals or damaging the cam/shaft.
  • After installation, restore power and test all timed functions to confirm proper operation.

For Whirlpool Timer (Angle Sequence) (Part Number: OEM18048942)

Jeff for Model Number MVWC300VW1

When I start the wash the water will start filling the tub and then stop. It'll start back again if you push on the lid or side. Then it will run a minute then stop filling again until you push anywhere on the top and it will begin to fill again. I have changed the water inlet valve and hoses as suggested by a repairman. the problem continues. I then bypassed the lid switch as suggested. The problem continues. The washer runs perfect once it is full of water until it gets to the rinse cycle and has to fill up again in which someone has to stand by the machine and keep pushing lightly down on the top or side of the washer until full. Any idea will by welcomed. Thank you

Hello Jeff, If pressure on the main top or cabinet is affecting the units' operation you will need to remove the cabinet and bypass the lid switch one again to locate the cause of the issue. This is most likely a poor electrical connection.

Jeff, You will want to check the wiring of the unit as it sounds like there may be a loose or bad connection. There could also be a pinched or damaged wiring.

Nancy, The most likely cause for the unit to not spin after it finishes draining would be a bad neutral assembly 388253A. This is located inside the gearcase.

Jim, The most likely cause for this issue would be either a faulty water level switch that is not making contact when it switches from empty to full or a faulty timer issue.

Hello DeThompson. If you can stop the water from entering the machine by turning off the timer or unplugging the unit, you will need to look for a bad pressure hose or replace the pressure switch. If the only way to shut off the water is at the shut off for the water hoses, you will need to replace the water valve in the unit.

Lois P for Model Number MVWC300VW0

We have this washer and after a thunderstorm, it will fill, agitate, but may take 30 minutes to start pumping water out and a long time to start spinning. It may agitate twice. Then after it finally spins out it may take another 30 or so to fill for rinse and after filling and agitating another wait to pump and spin final rinse. The person that directed me here thought it might be contacts sticking in the timer. We replaced the timer already. It runs very quietly when pumping and agitating and spinning. If lid is lifted while spinning it will stop and restart when lid is closed. thanks

Lois, You will want to check your wire harness from the timer to the motor for broken or loose connections. This would be the most likely cause with the timer having already been replaced.
