Oli for Model Number Whirlpool et1chmxkt04 refrigerator Hi all, Attempting to replace defrost timer with part W10822278. Anyone know which pin the black wire connects to for this model fridge? Some more background info - freezer frosts over (layers of ice). Changed bi-metal last year, worked fine for several months. Now problem with frost started back up again. Could it be the relay ? Any other tips greatly appreciated. Thanks !
Answer Oli, We wouldn't expect the problem to be the relay, but you should check the defrost heater WP2315530 Heater, Defrost for 30 to 40 ohms resistance across the wire terminals. On the defrost timer, the loose, black timer motor lead will slide over and down the No.1 terminal on the new timer then the orange wire will attach to the same No.1 terminal. The pink wire will attach to terminal No.2. The white wire will attach to terminal No.3 and the red wire will attach to terminal No.4. The replacement timer will provide defrost every 8 hours of compressor run time after the bimetal closes. Thanks, Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Thursday, September 5, 2019
