Cliff K for Model Number 10659799990 Appliance would work normal for several days then would warm although compressor still working and bottom of ice box still cold, but no freezer-compartment-fan circulation (ie; fan worked periodically) Made ice. Appiance would begin to work normally again after about 48 hours. Replaced defrost timer board 2188159 with 4388932. After replacement: fan not coming on, no ice being made. Compressor still working normally. Both boxes get cold but not as cold as previously (i assume ice and fan issue related) Could the issue be with the fan, or fan relay, or the compatibility of the new board with old? Thanks!!
Answer Cliff, It sounds like you may have a defrost problem with the unit. Check and see if there is any frost build up on the back wall of the freezer. If so, you will need to test the defrost heater and the defrost thermostat. They should read closed for continuity when cold. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. I will include a link at the end to assist you how to use the multi-meter if needed. If both parts are good, you will need to replace the defrost timer.
