Sam for Model Number msd2454grw The freezer side of the refrigerator is cold, about 0 degrees. The refrigerator side is about 50 degrees. There is a small amount of frost around the freezer blower. I unplugged the refrigerator for 5 hours and restarted. It did not improve the cooling in the refrigerator. What would I expect the problem to be? Defrost timer, run capacitor, etc.
Answer Hello Sam. You will need to remove the back wall inside the freezer and see if all the coils are frosted over. If so, test the defrost heater and thermostat WP61006116. They should read closed for continuity when cold. If they are good, you will need to replace the defrost timer WP68233-2. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps.http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
