Kurt, Yes there should be a continuity reading between terminals 1 and 3 at the defrost timer. On the RX1 setting , you would read a closed circuit. the 39K ohms, is the timer motor winding resistance and the resistor. If the resistor was bad, you'd have no resistance reading. Good Luck.
