Jeff for Model Number RC202TV Your technician said that I needed to test the defrost timer before ordering that part. He said that I needed to go to the refrigerator side of the side by side and remove the light shield to expose the timer. However the light shield will not snap off and I am afraid if I pull it too hard the wrong way it will break. Could you tell me how to remove the light shield without breaking it? The part number for the timer is 68233-3.
Answer Hello Jeff, Pull the control slide "knobs" straight off. The bottom will flex down and forward to unhook form the mount. The lens will then lift straight up to unhook from the top for removal.
