Dave for Model Number mde2706ayw I have a dryer that when you push in the control knob to start that also controls the time, and starts the heat. The button will not stay pushed in which than will not keep dryer running. If you push and hold knob in it will start and run but not heat up. Does this need part # ap4047639 or do you think it could be something else? Thank you for your help and advise.
Answer Hello Dave. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the run winding in the motor is bad and will need to be replaced. If you hold in on the timer, you are running the motor on the start winding. When you let got, the switch should send the power to the run winding. You will need to replace the motor WP2200376.
