Hello Dave. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the run winding in the motor is bad and will need to be replaced. If you hold in on the timer, you are running the motor on the start winding. When you let got, the switch should send the power to the run winding. You will need to replace the motor WP2200376. Hope this helps.
