Herman, Before you replace anything, try this, Fill the washer on the highest water level setting(make sure the machine is empty). Once the tub is full, let it advance and drain. The tub should be empty in 90 seconds or less, and make sure the tub is completely empty There should be little or no water left in the tub or under the spin basket by the end of the spin/drain cycle. If there is water left, check for a clogged, kinked drain hose or clogged or faulty drain pump. Then disconnect the air tube from the water level pressure switch, blow in the end of the tube, this will clear any sediment or debris that may have developed in the tube, also make sure the tube isn't twisted kinked or pinched anywhere in the cabinet. It's not likely you'd need a timer, but it's a very remote possibility, it's more likely there's air trapped in the air tube, and the water level switch is reaching the full tub level early,
