Mac August 31, 2020 for Model Number Kenmore 11082984120 Washer stopped working mid cycle. It smells like its burning, I pulled the motor and did a quick test and it ran fine, starting slowly and then speeding up per normal. Transmission seems good, brake seems good, connector between motor and transmission is good. Pump spins freely. Reassembled, same result. Motor tries to run, smells like its burning. No spin or water flow. Timer? Thanks, Mac
1 Answer Hello Mac, since the motor tested ok, the next step is to check the start capacitor for the motor in the console, if it checks ok then replace ithe timer WP3351119 as it controls motor start/run and direction. Read More...
Oldkemnore User May 17, 2018 for Model Number 11082874120 The timer does not advance even though continuity of the timer motor checks good. I have filled water to a small load, agitated, but timer never advanced (waited about 20 minutes). I moved the timer to pause on the same cycle and started again. This time I waited about an hour. (I think it should pause 10 or 15 minutes.) I can get it to pump the water and spin by advancing and starting again. My best diagnosis would be timer since it will not advance. Do you agree? Want to keep this 27-year-old gem running. It's been good to us. Thanks
1 Answer Hello Oldkemnore user, This is normally not the fault of the timer but something is not passing voltage to the timer motor so it can advance such as the pressure switch. The timer motor has to get voltage before it can advance unless the timer motor has failed, (which would show no as resistive value with a test meter). I'm sorry but since Sears uses a closed system and does not share their information, we are unable to pull the wiring diagram to provide specific assistance. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter. Read More...
Joel June 01, 2017 for Model Number 110.82980810 Kenmore washer continues to run in water after rinse cycle is over, it only does it on the normal wash cycle. Water valve shuts off if machine is unplugged. The delicate cycle shuts off water valve fine when complete. What would cause this?

Herman T. December 27, 2015 for Model Number 11082881300 I Have a incomplete fill on wash cycle however it fills completely on the rinse cycle. My first thought was the pressure switch however that would cause a incomplete fill on both cycles wouldn't it? Could this be a timer issue? I tried to register on your repair blog but it wouldn't let me log in. thank you in advance for your help
1 Answer Herman, Before you replace anything, try this, Fill the washer on the highest water level setting(make sure the machine is empty). Once the tub is full, let it advance and drain. The tub should be empty in 90 seconds or less, and make sure the tub is completely empty There should be little or no water left in the tub or under the spin basket by the end of the spin/drain cycle. If there is water left, check for a clogged, kinked drain hose or clogged or faulty drain pump. Then disconnect the air tube from the water level pressure switch, blow in the end of the tube, this will clear any sediment or debris that may have developed in the tube, also make sure the tube isn't twisted kinked or pinched anywhere in the cabinet. It's not likely you'd need a timer, but it's a very remote possibility, it's more likely there's air trapped in the air tube, and the water level switch is reaching the full tub level early, Read More...
Bob G August 02, 2015 for Model Number 11082874110 I have a defective timer switch Part # 3351119. Do you have a repair video that shows how access the Switch? I am having a difficult time in accessing the the upper control module or panel where the timer is located. It does not seem to come open very easy. I am missing something. Thank you Bob Gray
1 Answer Bob, Unfortunately there is not a video for your unit but does appear that you would just need to take out the screws from the endcap in at the back of the unit. Once loose you would roll the front of bottom of the control panel up. Read More...
Walt February 09, 2015 for Model Number 82873820 It stops at the rinse cycle. Timer does not move. I have replaced door switch and timer.
1 Answer Hello Walt. You need to check the cold water valve and see if it is bad. The unit rinses with cold water. If it does not fill, it will not advance. Read More...

Phil August 22, 2013 for Model Number Kenmore washer #11082873110 How do I remove the timer knob and dial? My problem seems to be, the only way for the engagement for selecting the type of cycle, is to push the dial manually, and turn. I think it is the dial that is faulty. Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks
1 Answer Hello Phil. It sounds like the knob is broke. You unscrew the knob from the timer shaft. Read More...
Ernest December 08, 2012 for Model Number 11082874120 washer fills and runs thru wash cycle and when its time to drain before the rinse cycle everything stops, timer knob does not advance, any ideas?
1 Answer Ernest, Your first check should be at the lid switch W10820036 assembly and wiring, and check the actuator 350733 and tab on the lid and top. The washer will fill and wash, but it will not drain and spin, with a faulty lid switch assembly. Read More...
